The ceremonial final beam in the construction of Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building. It was signed by leaders of America's space race and the construction team. For many years, it sat inaccessible, a record of the building's origins. Then, a secondary ceiling had to be added to the building to protect people and objects from cement that was flaking from the VAB's ceiling. Even a very small piece of cement, falling 500 feet can do a lot of damage. Since the beam became accessible, more signatures have been added to and over the fading originals. Just as the building, itself is a continual work in progress, so is this beam. The White Beam, Vehicle Assembly Building, The Sky Calls To Us, Fine Photographic Prints of The John F.
