"The Sky Calls To Us," Carl Sagan, Atlantis Visitor Center Complex, Kennedy Space Center
Much of the human race navigates existence using light. Everything we see is light - light reflected by things around us, not the things themselves. Yet, it is in the deep darkness of night that the blue veil is lifted from above us and we are able to see beyond the confines of Earth's atmosphere to detect with our eyes, something of our place in the cosmos.
This continues my logbook of thoughts, impressions and stories from my time photographing for The Sky Calls To Us, a folio of 45 fine photographic prints of the John F. Kennedy Space Center. See the full collection at www.memphisbarbree.com
